Os projetos s\u00e3o liderados por 25 centros de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, universidades e hospitais espanh\u00f3is, e 9 portugueses.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nesta oitava edi\u00e7\u00e3o, foram apresentadas <\/span><b>714 propostas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o b\u00e1sica, cl\u00ednica e translacional. O concurso est\u00e1 especialmente direcionado para abordar desafios de sa\u00fade em v\u00e1rias \u00e1reas: <\/span><b>neuroci\u00eancias, doen\u00e7as cardiovasculares e metab\u00f3licas, oncologia, doen\u00e7as infeciosas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e <\/span><b>tecnologias facilitadoras<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> em algum destes campos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Este ano, os acordos com a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthrought1d.org\/es\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Breakthrough T1D<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e com a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ffluzon.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Luz\u00f3n<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> permitiram dar maior destaque ao financiamento de iniciativas centradas na <\/span><b>diabetes tipo 1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, com dois projetos financiados, e na <\/span><b>esclerose lateral amiotr\u00f3fica (ELA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, com um projeto selecionado. O concurso conta ainda com a colabora\u00e7\u00e3o da <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fct.pt\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funda\u00e7\u00e3o para a Ci\u00eancia e a Tecnologia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (FCT), organismo p\u00fablico ligado ao Minist\u00e9rio da Educa\u00e7\u00e3o, Ci\u00eancia e Inova\u00e7\u00e3o de Portugal, que destina <\/span><b>1,8 milh\u00f5es de euros<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> para financiar <\/span><b>3 dos 9 projetos portugueses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> premiados nesta edi\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Os projetos portugueses deste ano <\/span><b>sobressaem pelo seu car\u00e1cter inovador e elevado impacto social<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, abrangendo diversas \u00e1reas da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o biom\u00e9dica de ponta. Entre eles est\u00e3o iniciativas como o projeto de <\/span><b>Bruno Sarmento (i3S, Universidade do Porto)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que desenvolve um <\/span><b>dispositivo implant\u00e1vel para melhorar o tratamento do glioblastoma<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, e o de <\/span><b>Claus Maria Azzalin (Instituto Gulbenkian de Medicina Molecular)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que investiga a <\/span><b>estabilidade do genoma atrav\u00e9s das intera\u00e7\u00f5es entre tel\u00f3meros e ARN<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Inclui-se tamb\u00e9m o trabalho de <\/span><b>Ricardo Henriques (Universidade Nova de Lisboa)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que aplica <\/span><b>microscopia baseada em intelig\u00eancia artificial para estudar infe\u00e7\u00f5es virais<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A investiga\u00e7\u00e3o oncol\u00f3gica tem igualmente uma presen\u00e7a relevante, com o projeto de <\/span><b>Jo\u00e3o Lacerda (GIMM)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que desenvolve uma <\/span><b>c\u00e9lula CAR-T universal eficaz contra v\u00e1rios tipos de cancro<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, e o de <\/span><b>June Ere\u00f1o-Orbea (CIC bioGUNE, Espanha)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que conta com a <\/span><b>participa\u00e7\u00e3o de Carlos Minutti (Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown, Portugal)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e que utiliza nanotecnologia para potenciar a imunoterapia contra o cancro. Destacam-se ainda o projeto de <\/span><b>Ana Eulalio (Universidade de Coimbra)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que analisa <\/span><b>a sobreviv\u00eancia intracelular e a resist\u00eancia aos antibi\u00f3ticos de <\/b><b><i>Staphylococcus aureus<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, o de <\/span><b>Cristina M\u00e1rquez (Universidade de Coimbra)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que procura <\/span><b>descodificar os mecanismos cerebrais subjacentes \u00e0 empatia e ao comportamento social<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Por fim, o projeto de <\/span><b>Joseph Paton (Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Champalimaud)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que investiga <\/span><b>como a dopamina e os circuitos neuronais influenciam os processos de tomada de decis\u00e3o<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esta edi\u00e7\u00e3o destaca-se ainda pelo <\/span><b>apoio a projetos portugueses que exploram novas abordagens de medicina preventiva e terapias inovadoras<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> com impacto direto na sa\u00fade p\u00fablica. Entre eles, sobressaem iniciativas que abordam <\/span><b>doen\u00e7as neurol\u00f3gicas e do desenvolvimento<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, como o projeto de <\/span><b>Diogo Castro (i3S, Universidade do Porto)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, centrado em compreender <\/span><b>como pequenas altera\u00e7\u00f5es no ADN influenciam a forma\u00e7\u00e3o e a fun\u00e7\u00e3o do c\u00e9rebro<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, e o de <\/span><b>Ana Paula P\u00eago (i3S, Universidade do Porto)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que desenvolve <\/span><b>novas estrat\u00e9gias de prote\u00e7\u00e3o cerebral para prevenir danos causados por doen\u00e7as neurol\u00f3gicas graves<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, como o acidente vascular cerebral, a epilepsia e a ELA. Estes projetos refletem o <\/span><b>forte compromisso de Portugal com a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o biom\u00e9dica de excel\u00eancia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, combinando <\/span><b>talento cient\u00edfico, inova\u00e7\u00e3o tecnol\u00f3gica e colabora\u00e7\u00e3o internacional<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, com um impacto social e cl\u00ednico significativo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Segundo \u00c0ngel Font, subdiretor-geral de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e Bolsas da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o \u201dla Caixa\u201d, \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o biom\u00e9dica \u00e9 uma das formas mais poderosas de melhorar a vida das pessoas. Os 34 projetos premiados abordam desafios muito diversos a partir de diferentes perspetivas, mas todos partilham tr\u00eas eixos fundamentais para avan\u00e7ar rumo a um futuro mais promissor para os doentes e as suas fam\u00edlias: colabora\u00e7\u00e3o, talento e inova\u00e7\u00e3o<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Entrega de bolsas do concurso<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cosmocaixa.org\/es\/cosmocaixa-barcelona\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Museu de Ci\u00eancia CosmoCaixa<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> acolheu a cerim\u00f3nia de entrega das bolsas, que contou com a presen\u00e7a de v\u00e1rios representantes da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o \u201dla Caixa\u201d, como o subdiretor geral de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e Bolsas, \u00c0ngel Font, e a diretora geral adjunta, Esther Planas. A cerim\u00f3nia contou tamb\u00e9m com a presen\u00e7a da presidente da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Luz\u00f3n, Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Arregui, e a vice-presidente de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o da Breakthrough T1D, Esther Latres, al\u00e9m dos investigadores e investigadoras que lideram os projetos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O concurso de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em Sa\u00fade da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o \u201dla Caixa\u201d, que este ano atribui <\/span><b>26 milh\u00f5es de euros<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a investiga\u00e7\u00f5es biom\u00e9dicas de excel\u00eancia, concede <\/span><b>at\u00e9 500.000 euros<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a projetos com uma \u00fanica institui\u00e7\u00e3o de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o envolvida e <\/span><b>at\u00e9 um milh\u00e3o de euros<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a cons\u00f3rcios de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o formados por v\u00e1rias institui\u00e7\u00f5es. Nesta edi\u00e7\u00e3o, os projetos em cons\u00f3rcio contam com a colabora\u00e7\u00e3o de <\/span><b>grupos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o de sete pa\u00edses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Desde o in\u00edcio do programa em 2018, o montante total do concurso de <\/span><b>Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em Sa\u00fade da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o \u201dla Caixa\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ascende a <\/span><b>172,3 milh\u00f5es de euros<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> para <\/span><b>234 projetos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, dos quais <\/span><b>162 s\u00e3o liderados por equipas espanholas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e <\/span><b>72 por grupos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o portugueses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Atualmente, este \u00e9 um dos concursos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em biomedicina e sa\u00fade de refer\u00eancia na Pen\u00ednsula Ib\u00e9rica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Funda\u00e7\u00e3o \u201dla Caixa\u201d: 50 milh\u00f5es de euros para 2025<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Funda\u00e7\u00e3o \u201dla Caixa\u201d iniciou em 2018 a sua implanta\u00e7\u00e3o em Portugal, consequ\u00eancia da entrada do BPI no grupo CaixaBank.
