A m\u00e9s, aquest estudi, que rep el suport de CaixaResearch, descobreix una nova funci\u00f3 del succinat i, concretament, del seu receptor SUCNR1 <\/span><b>com a mecanisme protector de le\u0219 c\u00e8l\u00b7lules hep\u00e0tiques<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: la de prevenir l\u2019acumulaci\u00f3 de l\u00edpids a les fases inicials de la malaltia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>La malaltia del fetge gras no alcoh\u00f2lic afecta el 25% de la poblaci\u00f3<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. En els casos m\u00e9s greus pot derivar en una cirrosi i pot implicar un major risc de c\u00e0ncer. S&#8217;ha convertit en una de les principals causes de transplantament hep\u00e0tic. El grup DIAMET de l&#8217;IISPV (reconegut a nivell internacional per la seva recerca sobre el paper del succinat en les malalties metab\u00f2liques) treballa en aquest camp des de fa temps.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L&#8217;estudi ha analitzat els nivells de succinat en sang de pacients amb sospita de patir la malaltia i que presentaven diverses alteracions metab\u00f2liques, com l&#8217;obesitat, o valors anormals relacionats amb la glucosa, els enzims hep\u00e0tics i els l\u00edpids. <\/span><b>Els resultats han mostrat que els pacients amb nivells elevats de succinat en sang tenen un major risc de desenvolupar la malaltia del fetge gras<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A m\u00e9s a m\u00e9s, s&#8217;ha observat que aquest metab\u00f2lit t\u00e9 un potencial similar a altres biomarcadors no invasius per a la predicci\u00f3 i confirmaci\u00f3 del diagn\u00f2stic d\u2019aquesta patologia. <\/span><b>La inclusi\u00f3 d&#8217;aquest par\u00e0metre a la pr\u00e0ctica cl\u00ednica podria evitar bi\u00f2psies hep\u00e0tiques, una prova invasiva que s&#8217;utilitza quan hi ha dubtes sobre l&#8217;evoluci\u00f3 de la patologia.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">D&#8217;altra banda, s&#8217;ha descobert que el receptor del succinat, el SUCNR1, juga un paper clau no nom\u00e9s en etapes m\u00e9s avan\u00e7ades de la malaltia com la fibrosi, com s&#8217;havia descrit en estudis previs, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 en etapes m\u00e9s inicials. Utilitzant mostres de pacients amb obesitat severa i amb diferents nivells de la malaltia, aix\u00ed com estudis en ratolins i experiments amb c\u00e8l\u00b7lules,<\/span><b> s&#8217;ha demostrat per primera vegada que el succinat, a trav\u00e9s del seu receptor, t\u00e9 efectes protectors en les principals c\u00e8l\u00b7lules del fetge, els hepat\u00f2cits, ja que evita l&#8217;acumulaci\u00f3 de greix al fetge.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Aquest efecte protector \u00e9s fonamental a les etapes inicials, per\u00f2 no \u00e9s suficient en etapes m\u00e9s avan\u00e7ades.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aquest estudi del Grup de Recerca DIAMET de l&#8217;IISPV-CIBERDEM-URV, sota la direcci\u00f3 dels investigadors <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fundacaolacaixa.pt\/ca\/web\/guest\/convocatoria-caixaresearch-investigacio-salut-2020-projecte-obesitat-diabetis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sonia Fern\u00e1ndez-Veledo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> i Joan Vendrell, <\/span><b>no nom\u00e9s contribueix a un diagn\u00f2stic m\u00e9s efectiu de la malaltia del fetge gras no alcoh\u00f2lic, sin\u00f3 que tamb\u00e9 obrir\u00e0 noves vies per al desenvolupament de f\u00e0rmacs destinats al seu tractament (fins ara inexistents).<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Les investigadores de l&#8217;estudi Vict\u00f2ria Ceperuelo Mallafr\u00e9 i Anna Marsal Beltran assenyalen la import\u00e0ncia d&#8217;avan\u00e7ar en el coneixement dels processos moleculars que determinen la progressi\u00f3 de la malaltia i poder aix\u00ed desenvolupar f\u00e0rmacs dirigits a c\u00e8l\u00b7lules espec\u00edfiques. Aquest estudi s&#8217;ha dut a terme amb mostres de pacients dels hospitals universitaris Joan XXIII i Sant Joan de Reus de Tarragona, de l&#8217;Hospital Universitari Dr. Josep Trueta de Girona i de l&#8217;Hospital Cl\u00ednic Universitari Virgen de la Arrixaca, a Murcia.
