La investigadora ens explica com la recreaci\u00f3 de l\u2019entorn en qu\u00e8 es mouen les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules canceroses pot suposar un gir en la lluita contra el c\u00e0ncer colorectal metast\u00e0tic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Com et vas arribar a interessar per les t\u00e8cniques de bioimpressi\u00f3 3D?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019inter\u00e8s em ve per la meva formaci\u00f3 en f\u00edsica experimental. Molts dels m\u00e8todes que es fan servir per fabricar teixits procedeixen de les t\u00e8cniques de microfabricaci\u00f3 i nanofabricaci\u00f3 que originalment es van dur a terme per produir xips d\u2019ordinador. A poc a poc aquestes tecnologies s\u2019han anat adaptant a diferents tipus de materials per integrar els components cel\u00b7lulars. El meu objectiu \u00e9s portar aquestes t\u00e8cniques al camp biom\u00e8dic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Per\u00f2 \u00e9s possible recrear un entorn tan complex al laboratori?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Una de les caracter\u00edstiques del c\u00e0ncer colorectal \u00e9s que \u00e9s extremadament sensible a l\u2019entorn que envolta les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules. Per tant \u00e9s molt important poder imitar aquest entorn des del punt de vista qu\u00edmic, f\u00edsic i biol\u00f2gic. \u00d2bviament els sistemes amb els que treballem no el poden recrear al 100 %, per\u00f2 s\u00ed les seves caracter\u00edstiques m\u00e9s essencials. Aix\u00ed es produeix la met\u00e0stasi. El que pretenem amb la bioimpressi\u00f3 3D \u00e9s precisament crear un dispositiu, un xip que imita una vena o un vas sanguini, i injectar les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules perqu\u00e8 ens revelin si podrien envair altres \u00f2rgans. Si entenem com funciona aquest proc\u00e9s ser\u00e0 m\u00e9s f\u00e0cil saber quines ter\u00e0pies es poden fer servir.<\/p>\n<p><strong>En quin punt de la recerca ens trobem ara mateix?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Som encara a la fase preliminar. Ja sabem com a\u00efllar aquestes c\u00e8l\u00b7lules circulants que causen la met\u00e0stasi i com recrear amb una bioimpressora 3D aquests vasos sanguinis, quin material hem de fer servir i com introduir les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules. Confiem que, a partir del desembre, quan comenci el projecte, puguem posar tots aquests elements en com\u00fa i iniciar la recerca.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aquesta setmana se celebra la Setmana Europea contra el C\u00e0ncer de Pulm\u00f3. La bioimpressi\u00f3 3D pot ajudar tamb\u00e9 a detectar la met\u00e0stasi en aquest tipus de c\u00e0ncer?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El c\u00e0ncer de pulm\u00f3 \u00e9s un dels c\u00e0ncers que es pot beneficiar de disposar de models tridimensionals que representin de manera fidedigna l\u2019entorn cel\u00b7lular en qu\u00e8 es desenvolupen. De fet, volem establir les bases d\u2019una tecnologia que en un futur es pugui fer servir per a d\u2019altres tipus de c\u00e0ncer i les eines que farem servir s\u00f3n f\u00e0cilment aplicables. Si s\u2019ha triat el c\u00e0ncer colorectal metast\u00e0tic \u00e9s precisament perqu\u00e8 les seves opcions terap\u00e8utiques s\u00f3n extremadament limitades. Som un grup tecnol\u00f2gic i el fet de poder tenir aquesta oportunitat de col\u00b7laborar directament amb grups m\u00e8dics com l\u2019Institut d\u2019Oncologia de la Vall d\u2019Hebron representa una oportunitat impagable. El fet que la nostra tecnologia es pugui transferir i implantar nom\u00e9s \u00e9s possible a trav\u00e9s d\u2019aquest tipus de convocat\u00f2ries que financen l\u2019intercanvi entre la recerca i la medicina.<\/p>\n<p>Fa poc, uns investigadors japonesos han desenvolupat peces bioimpreses en 3D per alliberar medicaments segons les necessitats del pacient. La bioimpressi\u00f3 pot servir tamb\u00e9 per al tractament del c\u00e0ncer?<\/p>\n<p>La bioimpressi\u00f3 3D pot servir per generar dispositius que es puguin fer servir directament com a ter\u00e0pia. Una de les opcions seria utilitzar un biomaterial en el qual s\u2019incorpora un f\u00e0rmac que es va alliberant de manera sostinguda i localitzada. Aix\u00f2 minimitzaria els efectes secundaris en alliberar aquesta dosi en parts concretes de l\u2019organisme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Podr\u00e0 fins i tot crear \u00f2rgans?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00c9s la t\u00e8cnica m\u00e9s prometedora per crear \u00f2rgans, encara que no en un futur molt proper. Per\u00f2 crear teixits que es puguin utilitzar en medicina regenerativa s\u00ed que \u00e9s una realitat a m\u00e9s curt termini.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quins s\u00f3n els teus pron\u00f2stics pel que fa a la lluita contra el c\u00e0ncer en els propers anys?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Crec que la bioimpressi\u00f3 ser\u00e0 un element clau en la lluita contra el c\u00e0ncer. Se sap que les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules cancer\u00edgenes, quan es cultiven de manera tradicional en un laboratori, es comporten d\u2019una manera que no \u00e9s fisiol\u00f2gica. Perqu\u00e8 ho siguin cal conrear-les en un entorn semblant al que existeix en els teixits i la bioimpressi\u00f3 3D \u00e9s una eina capa\u00e7 de recrear aquests entorns.
