En la hist\u00f2ria de la humanitat hi ha hagut dues grans revolucions en l&#8217;agricultura: la domesticaci\u00f3 de les plantes al neol\u00edtic, que va donar lloc a l&#8217;aparici\u00f3 d&#8217;una manera de viure organitzada en poblacions sedent\u00e0ries, i la recent revoluci\u00f3 industrial, que va permetre augmentar la productivitat agr\u00edcola per satisfer les necessitats d&#8217;una societat capitalista. Al segle xxi ens enfrontem a nous reptes socials que nom\u00e9s podran ser abordats mitjan\u00e7ant una economia basada en el coneixement i que donar\u00e0 lloc a una societat sostenible. Al centre d&#8217;aquesta nova revoluci\u00f3 es troba la biotecnologia vegetal, basada en recerca\u00a0 innovadora en plantes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.caixaresearch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/ca\/Plant-Proteostasis2.png\" style=\"width: 400px; height: 231px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"> Un dels grans reptes de la societat actual, a m\u00e9s de garantir l&#8217;alimentaci\u00f3 d&#8217;una poblaci\u00f3 creixent, \u00e9s el de fer la transici\u00f3 cap a una manera de viure menys dependent dels productes derivats del petroli, tant en l&#8217;\u00e0mbit de l&#8217;energia com en el dels materials. Aquesta transici\u00f3 \u00e9s essencial per fer front al canvi clim\u00e0tic i reduir la contaminaci\u00f3 tant per emissi\u00f3 de gasos com per productes no biodegradables que tenen un impacte molt negatiu en el medi ambient. Aquesta innovaci\u00f3 requereix la implicaci\u00f3 d&#8217;experts de disciplines diverses, del sector pol\u00edtic i empresarial, i de la societat en el seu conjunt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.caixaresearch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/ca\/Plant-Proteostasis3.png\" style=\"width: 400px; height: 266px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"> Amb aquest objectiu es van reunir al <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bdebate.org\/ca\/debat\/plant-proteostasis-towards-green-based-industry\">B-Debate \u00abPlant Proteostasis. Towards a Green Based Industry\u00bb<\/a> experts en recerca dels mecanismes que regulen el desenvolupament de les plantes i la seva resist\u00e8ncia a condicions ambientals adverses, juntament amb experts en l&#8217;\u00fas de materials vegetals com a substituts de materials d&#8217;origen f\u00f2ssil. Es va destacar la import\u00e0ncia dels mecanismes que regulen la prote\u00f2stasi, que s\u00f3n essencials per al desenvolupament i la superviv\u00e8ncia de les plantes en condicions ambientals adverses o davant l&#8217;atac de pat\u00f2gens. Per exemple, la manipulaci\u00f3 de l&#8217;autof\u00e0gia, el descobriment de la qual ha rebut el reconeixement del premi Nobel aquest any, determina una extensi\u00f3 en la vida de les plantes. El coneixement d&#8217;aquests processos suposa una oportunitat per a la millora r\u00e0pida de les caracter\u00edstiques agron\u00f2miques de plantes d&#8217;inter\u00e8s industrial sempre que vagi de la m\u00e0 d&#8217;un di\u00e0leg amb la ci\u00e8ncia aplicada i el sector productiu, com ha estat el cas en aquest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bdebate.org\">B-Debate<\/a>, iniciativa de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biocat.cat\/ca\">Biocat<\/a> i l&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/obrasociallacaixa.org\/ca\/\">Obra Social &#8220;la Caixa&#8221;<\/a>, amb la col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 del <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cragenomica.es\/ca\">Centre de Recerca en Agrigen\u00f2mica<\/a> i l&#8217;<a href=\"http:\/\/cost-proteostasis.eu\/\">acci\u00f3 COST Proteostasis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.caixaresearch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/ca\/Plant-Proteostasis4.png\" style=\"width: 400px; height: 261px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"> En els darrers anys, s&#8217;han aconseguit grans aven\u00e7os en el desenvolupament de biomaterials tant per a aplicacions d&#8217;enginyeria com en la construcci\u00f3. Tot i aix\u00ed, queda un llarg cam\u00ed per rec\u00f3rrer per aconseguir estendre&#8217;n l&#8217;aplicabilitat. Aix\u00f2 no ser\u00e0 possible sense el desenvolupament de conreus vegetals amb caracter\u00edstiques agron\u00f2miques que assegurin la introducci\u00f3 de noves propietats en la cadena de producci\u00f3.
