La recerca en nous materials est\u00e0 avan\u00e7ant amb passes de gegant en la millora dels processos productius, \u00e9s a dir, fer servir recursos m\u00e9s sostenibles i de forma eficient per a obtenir m\u00e9s b\u00e9ns i serveis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.caixaresearch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/CARD_ENERGC38DA_CAT_400p.jpg\" style=\"width: 400px; height: 400px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> <span id=\"docs-internal-guid-a50c6bbf-7fff-81ce-8d04-247a8294648e\">Amb motiu del Dia Mundial de l\u2019Estalvi Energ\u00e8tic, volem destacar dos projectes de recerca innovadora en aquest camp, ambd\u00f3s seleccionats pel programa <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/obrasociallacaixa.org\/ca\/investigacion-y-becas\/convocatorias-de-investigacion\/mit-spain-la-caixa-foundation-seed-fund\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">MIT-SPAIN \u201dla Caixa\u201d Foundation SEED FUND<\/a>. Aquest programa \u00e9s una iniciativa conjunta de \u201dla Caixa\u201d i el\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mit.edu\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Massachusetts Institute of Technology<\/a>\u00a0(MIT) per impulsar la col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 entre grups de recerca espanyols i del MIT en la recerca de solucions als grans reptes del segle XXI en mat\u00e8ria d\u2019energia, salut i economia global.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> <strong>Nanomaterials i antenes \u00f2ptiques per captar millor la llum solar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> <span id=\"docs-internal-guid-a50c6bbf-7fff-81ce-8d04-247a8294648e\">En col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 amb Will Tisdale, del MIT, l\u2019investigador del Centre de Recerca de F\u00edsica de la Mat\u00e8ria Condensada (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifimac.uam.es\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">IFIMAC-UAM<\/a>), Ferry Prins, treballa per millorar la interconversi\u00f3 entre la llum i l\u2019electricitat en les tecnologies relacionades amb l\u2019energia solar.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> En aquest \u00e0mbit de recerca hi ha un inter\u00e8s creixent per substituir el silici, fins ara el material convencional per captar la llum, per altres materials m\u00e9s barats i accessibles. No obstant aix\u00f2, sovint aquests nous nanomaterials presenten una estructura menys ordenada i amb certs defectes que compliquen el transport d\u2019energia a trav\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> Davant d\u2019aquest problema, els investigadors de tots dos laboratoris han unit forces per plantejar una soluci\u00f3 totalment innovadora. En combinar nanomaterials perfeccionats pel MIT i antenes \u00f2ptiques generades per la UAM, \u00e9s possible crear alternatives que permetin esquivar qualsevol imperfecci\u00f3 o desordre durant la col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 d\u2019energia a trav\u00e9s del material. Aquest \u00e9s el primer pas per aconseguir panells solars econ\u00f2mics i, alhora, molt eficients. Potencialment, aquesta tecnologia podria convertir qualsevol superf\u00edcie en un col\u00b7lector d\u2019energia. En un escenari com aquest, la llum del Sol podria proporcionar prou energia com per satisfer les necessitats del planeta.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> \u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CrD2ewPhetk\" width=\"400\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> <strong>Entendre i controlar el transport de calor a la nanoescala\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> <span id=\"docs-internal-guid-a50c6bbf-7fff-81ce-8d04-247a8294648e\">Des de l\u2019Institut Catal\u00e0 de Nanoci\u00e8ncia i Nanotecnologia (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/icn2.cat\/en\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">ICN2<\/a>), Marianna Sledzinska, sota la direcci\u00f3 de la investigadora ICREA Clivia M. Sotomayor Torres, col\u00b7labora amb Keith Nelson, del MIT. Ambd\u00f3s equips treballen junts per entendre com es transporta la calor a la nanoescala i com es poden fabricar nous nanomaterials capa\u00e7os de controlar-ne la dissipaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> El silici \u00e9s tamb\u00e9 un material omnipresent en els nanotransistors dels dispositius moderns i \u00e9s un bon conductor de la calor a escala macro. No obstant, amb la miniaturitzaci\u00f3 electr\u00f2nica, i amb el pas a l\u2019escala nano, la seva capacitat per al transport t\u00e8rmic disminueix molt\u00edssim. Aix\u00f2 provoca un sobreescalfament en els nostres dispositius electr\u00f2nics, que disminueixen el rendiment i fins i tot poden arribar a deixar de funcionar. \u00c9s per aquest motiu pel qual \u00e9s tan important trobar nous materials capa\u00e7os de transportar la calor de forma m\u00e9s eficient a escales tan petites. Entre aquests materials hi ha el graf\u00e8, que \u00e9s el que s\u2019est\u00e0 erigint en material estrella de l\u2019electr\u00f2nica del futur.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> En aquesta cursa per desbancar el silici, \u00e9s molt important evitar els problemes actuals derivats del sobreescalfament o la dissipaci\u00f3 t\u00e8rmica.
